Jay Somanath! Jay Somnath !! Somnath in Somnath Patan, near Veraval in
Gujarat is the most respected walking center in India.
Somnath is considered to be the first of the 12 Jyotirlingas in Shiva.
Somnath is on the south coast of Saurashtra The waves hitting the mandirghat
stairs seem to join in the joyful singing.
They seem to say 'Jay Shankar, jay Shankar this low baritone sound and
the sound of gold bells seem to combine with the sweaty sound of "One
mamah sivaya, on namah Sivaya". Everywhere you get the holy and holy spirit.
The great gold medal of the temple was to save about two hundred “Mans”
and fifty-six pillars were filled with precious stones like Diamonds, rubies,
cat eyes, etc.
Every day, sandalwood scented water is transported from Haridwar,
Prayag Kashi to be used in the worship of the monarch and Abhishek. A harvest
of ten thousand villages was brought to the sacred place. Somnath is considered
the first of the twelve jyotirlingas.
Because this god has to be Swanyambhu (Self Born) and he stays awake.
Dedicated lakhs visited this temple and considered themselves blessed and
gained devotion.
Moon, Chandra The Shri Somnath blessing of Saurashtra, the shiv trip,
Agni teerth and Surya teerth were bestowed to God initially. The magnificent
Jyotirlinga, the first of its type in India, was subsequently put in a gorgeous
gold temple constructed by Chandra.
Legend has it that the moon was married to 27 daughters in Daksha
Prajapati. He chose Rohini, who loved him dearly and ignored others. Daksha got
angry and cursed at her for not being anything.
Disturbed Chandra, descended on Prabhasa with Rohini and served the
Sparsa Linga of Somnath after which she was blessed by Shiva to grow and shine
in the bright part.
As the moon shone again, the city came to be known as Prabhasa. Balaam,
one of the three installed Balaam and opened the way for the temple to be
built.
