12 JYOTIRLINGA - MAHAKALESHWAR JYOTIRLINGA UJJAIN

On the banks of the river Kshipra, the town of Ujjain is located in Madhya Pradesh. Also known as Indrapuri Amaravati, and Avantika. Due to the number of gold towers of several temples, the city is also known as "Swama Sringa".

When Chandrasena realized that she was surrounded by enemies, she sought the help of Mahakal. Bhagawan Shiva was happy with his prayers and showed him the solution to his problem.

At that time, accidentally, a Brahman woman wandered near Mahakal, carrying her child with her, and suddenly became a widow. An illiterate boy once insulted a king who played Puja at the Mahakaleswar temple and felt compelled to do the same.

 He brought a beautiful stone and put it in his empty house. He thought it was the body of a Shiva man and began to worship it. The boy was so absorbed in prayer and nose, that he even forgot to eat.

When his mother called him, any phone numbers were irrelevant to him. He prayed silently. Angered by this, the mother, who was still bound by worldly love, abandoned ShivaLinga. He destroyed everything to worship.

The boy was very upset about what his mother had done. He began to pray to Shiva with all his mind. Shiva immediately came to the rescue of his volunteer. The ShivaLinga stone brought by the herdsman's son was soon adorned with precious stones and turned into JyotirLinga.

After Singing in praise of King Shiva, when the boy returned to his house, he was surprised to find a beautiful palace home. So, through the Grace and Blessings of Lord Shiva, the boy became rich and lived a very happy life.

 Meanwhile, enemy kings clung to the Chandrasena empire, and war broke out among them. They started by saying that King Chandrasena was a devout Shiva and that Jijain itself was the city of Mahakal.

 Therefore, it is impossible for anyone to defeat them. Then they decided to extend a friendly hand to King Chandrasena and together they worshiped Mahakal. Adyapeetha, that is, the basis of Sanscrit learning, ethics, knowledge or science and art originated in this area.

It really is Triveni Sangam or reading about three great things. The size of the city of Ujjain was fortified by the Mauryaya kings and other kings.

12 JYOTIRLINGA - MALLIKARJUN JYOTIRLINGA

 

Srisailam is located in the Kurnool region of Andhra Pradesh. Shouts of joy fill the area. The whole area is covered with forests of Kadali, Bilva trees, mountains, and Pataraganga.

All echo the sentiments of those devoted ones. In ancient times, King Shankara was supposed to visit the same place. He decided to make this his permanent residence. This place is called Kailash Niwas.

When Kumar Kartikeya returned to Kailash after completing his world tour, he heard of Ganesha's wedding from Narada. This made him angry. Despite being banned by his parents.

Touching their feet, he bowed and went to Krounch Mountain. However, several attempts were made to silence Parvati and to make him understand the situation, all to no avail. He was very upset.

Lord Shankara then sent Deva Rishis to Pacify Kumar and returned him. But even those efforts failed. Parvati was so worried about being away from her son, she begged Shankara to look for their son. Together, they set off in search of Kumara.

However, Kumara left with three other Jonas, after hearing about his parents coming after him to Krouncha Mountain. Not finding their son there, Shiva and Parvati were worried.

Before continuing to search for their son on each mountain, they decided to leave a lamp on every mountain they visited. From that day on. the area is known as JyotirLinga Mallikarjuna.

Shiva and Parvati are believed to have visited the area in Amavasya (No day of the month) and (full day of the month) Pournami, respectively. Visiting this JyotirLinga not only blesses a person with countless riches, but also a name and fame and fulfills all desires.

Legend has it that in ancient times, Arjuna went on a pilgrimage to the shrine. During his visit, he came across his Kadali Vans (banana groves). Lord Shankara wanted to test Arjuna's ability to bow. He took the form of a Bil (Mountain tribal) and followed him and hunted wild boars, after which Arjuna also-ran.

They both put their claim on the pig. They fought and Arjuna won in the end. Excited, King Shankara appeared before him. He is famous for Kiratarjun Yuddha. On one occasion, a princess named Chandravati decided to go into the woods to express her regrets.

He has chosen Kadali Vana for this purpose. One day, he saw a miracle. The Kapila cow was standing under a Bililwa tree and milk was flowing from all four of her teats, sinking into the ground. The cow has been doing this as a normal daily routine.

Chandravati dug the site and became speechless with the invention of what he saw. There was Syarnbhu ShivaTrying for self-promotion. It shone and shone like the rays of the sun, and it looked like it was burning, throwing flames all around.

Chandravati prayed to Shiva in this body as JyotirLinga. He built a large Shiva Temple there, Lord Shankara was very happy for him, Candravati went to Kailash windborne. You have received salvation with Mukti.

In one of the temple's stone inscriptions, Chandravati's story may appear to have been recorded. Shaila Mallikarjuna's shrine is located on the banks of the Krishna River Here the Krishna River is in the form of Palaganga (underground spring).

The kings of the Vijayanagar Dynasty also built the Temple, Tower, Portico, and the dam. Ahelyadevi Holkar, a devout Shiva devotee, built a sturdy bathhouse containing 852 steps on the shores of Patalganga.

Previously, this part of the Shaila Mountains was a difficult, inaccessible, and dangerous place. Even they, the devotees, with their great power, used to get there in great numbers.

Hiranyakashipa, Narada Pandavas, Sri Ram are some of the great legends who should have visited this sacred place.

5) Shri Chintamani - Theur

Shri Chintamani - Theur is the next temple in Asthavinayak Yatra . The temple is located 22 km from Pune, off the Pune-Solapur highway, and is so the nearest to Pune.

The village of Theur is located at the confluence of three major regional rivers - the Mula, Mutha & Bhima. Ganesha is believed to have returned a precious Chinese stone from the greedy Guna to Sage Kapila in the area.

However, after retrieving the stone, Sage Kapila placed it on Vinayaka's (Ganesha) neck. Hence the name Chintamani Vinayak. This took place under the Kadamb tree, so Theur was known as Kadambanagar in ancient times.

The pool behind the temple is called Kadambteertha. The temple's main entrance faces north. Peshwas constructed the outside wooden hall. The great temple must have been built by Dharanidhar Maharaj Dev from the genealogy of Shri Moraya Gosavi.

6) Shri Girijatmaj - Lenyadri

Shri Girijatmaj - Lenyadri is the next temple in ashtavinayak yatra Shri Girijatmaj is 12 kilometers from Narayangaon, which is 94 kilometers from Pune on the Pune-Nashik highway.

The nearest railway station is Talegaon. From Junnar, Lenyadri is about 5Km. The Shivaneri palace is close to where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born (5 to 6 kilometers). It is believed that Parvati made remorse for giving birth to Ganesha at this time. Girija's (Parvati's) Atmaj (son) is Girijatmaj.

The temple stands in the middle of a cave with 18 caves of Buddhist origin. This temple is the 8th cave. This is also called Ganesh-leni. The temple is carved on a single rock mass, with 307 steps. The temple has a spacious hall with no pillars.

The temple hall is 130 feet [53 m] long, 15 feet [51 m] wide, and 7 feet high. The statue faces north with its trunk to the left and is to be venerated after the temple.

The temple faces south. This picture differs from other Ashtavinayak sculptures in that it looks to be badly built or etched in comparison to other statues. This image can be worshiped by anyone. There is no electric lamp in the temple. The temple was built in such a way that during the day it was always lit up by the sun's rays!

7) Shri Vighneshwar - Ozar

Shri Vighneshwar - The Ozar Temple is next to the Ashtavinayak yatra. The Shri Vighnahar Temple is located on Pune-Nashik Highway, Ozar city. It is surrounded by high walls of stone, and its front is made of gold. On the banks of the Kukadi River, the temple is Located.

With Mumbai-Thane-Kalyan-Bapsai-Saralgaon-Otur, Ozar is 182Km.

According to legend, Vighnasur, the demon-possessed god of the gods, Indra, ended the prayer offered by King Abhinandan.

However, the demon went ahead and destroyed all Vedic, religious practices and in response to human prayers for protection, Ganesh defeated him.

The story goes that when she was abducted, the demon begged and apologized to Ganesha for showing patience.

Ganesha then agreed to his request, but on the condition that the demon should not go to the place where Ganesha was worshiped.

The demon begged for compassion over and over that his name be taken before Ganesha's, therefore Ganesha's name became Vighnahar or Vighneshwar. Shri Vighneshwar Vinayak is the name given to Ganesha at this temple.

The temple is facing east and is surrounded by a thick stone wall. One can walk on a wall. The main hall of the temple is 20 meters long and the inner hall is 10feet long.

This image, facing east, has its own trunk to the left with rubies in its eyes. There is a diamond on the forehead and another jewel in the center. Rid and Sidon Idols are placed on both sides of the idol Ganesha.

The top of the temple is in Gold and may have been built by Chimaji Appa after defeating the Portuguese rulers of Vasai and Sashti. The temple was probably built about 1785AD.

8) Shri Mahaganapati -Ranjangaon

The final temple in the Ashtavinayak Yatra is Shri Mahaganapati-Ranjangaon. Shri Mahaganapati temple is in the hamlet of Ranjangaon, 50 kilometers from Pune on the Pune-Ahmednagar route.

The idol is facing east, sitting on a leg with its legs opposite the broad forehead, and its trunk pointing to the left.

The original picture is supposed to have been buried in a basement, with ten stems and twenty hands, and is known as the Mahotkat; however, temple authorities dispute the statue's existence.

Shiva is believed to have worshiped Ganesha before fighting the demon Tururasura here. The temple was built by Shiva where he worshiped Ganesha, and the city he built was called Manipur now known as Ranjangaon.

The temple was built so that the rays of the sun could fall directly on the image, and the temple resembled a magnificent architecture reminiscent of the 9th and 10th centuries.

Shimrimra Madhavrao Peshwa used to visit the temple often and built a foundation stone around the statue.

Moregaon - Moreshwar is the first temple in the Ashtavinayak Yatra pilgrimage. The temple, which was constructed of black stone during the Bahamas' rule, has four gates. The temple is in the center of the village.

The temple is covered on both sides by four towers and gives the impression of a Muslim church when viewed from a distance.

This may have been to prevent a temple invasion in space. The temple has 50feets long walls around it. The temple is located about 35 miles [55 km] from Pune, near the Karha River in the village of Moregaon.

The village gets its name from the Marathi name of the Peacock bird - and also the Indian national bird.

of King Ganesha, who rode a peacock, in Mayureshwara's way is believed to have struck the Sindhu demon in the area. The idol, with its trunk, turned to the left, has a cobra standing on it to protect it. This form of Ganesha has two other murtis of Siddi and Buddhi.

There is Nandi sitting in front of this temple door, which is different, as Nandi used to be in front of shiva temples only. However, this is not the original murti - meaning that it was purified twice by Brahma, once before and after the destruction by asura Sindhurasur.

The first murti of small size and made of atoms of earth, metal, and diamonds was thought to have been placed on a copper sheet by the Pandavas and placed behind the one currently being worshiped.

2) Siddhivinayak - Siddhatek

Shri Siddhivinayak is the second temple at Ashtavinayak Yatra. Shri Siddhivinayak is located on the Pune-Solapur highway about 48 kilometers from the town of Shrigonda in the Ahmednagar district. The temple is located near the river Bima.

On the Pune-Solapur railway, the Daund railway station is 18 Km from here. The story of the temple is similar to what God Vishnu should have beaten asuras Madhu and Kaitabha after pleasing Ganesha here. This is the only murti of these eight with a stem placed on the right.

The temple faces North and is located on a small hillock. The main road leading to the temple is believed to have been built by Pesha Haripant Phadake in general. The inner sanctuary, 15 meters high and 10 meters wide, was built by Punya shloka Ahilyabai Holkar.

The statue is three feet long and 2.5feet wide. The idol is facing north. The stomach of the murti is not wide, but the Riddles and Siddhi murtis sit on one thigh. This murti palace turns right. Ganesha's right-hand body should be very strong for the devotees.

Haripant promised God that he would bring the castle stones that would win the first battle to be fought as general commander. The stone road was built from Badami-Castle which was attacked by Haripant shortly after he became general manager.

 3) Shri Ballaleshwar - Pali

Shri Ballaleshwar - Pali is the third temple in Ashtavinayak Yatra. The temple is in the city of Pali, near the Mumbai-Pune Highway, about seven miles [11 km] ahead of Nagothane on the Mumbai-Goa highway. This is located 30km to the Southwest. Mumbai-Panvel-Khopoli-Pali is 124Km.

Pune-Lonavla-Copy-Pali is 111Km. The original wooden temple was rebuilt into a stone temple by Nana Phadanavis in 1760. There are two small pools built on either side of the temple.

One of them is reserved for the god Puja. The temple is facing east and has two sanctuaries. The interior has a murti and has a muddy Mushika in front of it in the front. This hall, supported by eight carved pillars demanding much attention as an idol, sits on a throne carved like a Cypriot tree.

The eight pillars show eight directions. The inner sanctuary is 15 feet long and the outer one 12 feet long. The temple was built in such a way that after the cosmic winter, the sun's rays fall on the Ganesha murti at sunrise. The temple is built of solid rock, which is solidly reinforced with molten lead.

 Another special feature of this temple is the prasad given to this Ganapati in Pali by Besan Laadu instead of the Modak which is usually given to other Ganapati's. The shape of the image itself resembles a striking resemblance to the mountain that forms the backdrop of this temple.

This sounds great when one looks at a picture of a mountain and sees a picture.

Karjat Railway Station, Karjat on the Mumbai-Pune railway line is 24Km from the site and 6Km of Copalis. The handsome Prince Rukmangad refused to be illegally summoned by Vachaknavi's wife, Mukunda and was cursed with leprosy.

Mukunda was pleased with Indra who tricked him as Rukmangad and gave birth to a child named Grutsamad. When Grutsamad heard the real story, he cursed his mother Mukunda for Bori's medicine and he also cursed her and gave birth to a demon son named Tripurasur, who was defeated by Shiva after praying at Ranjangaon Ganesha.

Grutsamad after the curse went to the forest of Pushpak and worshiped Ganesha. Sage Grutsamad is famous for the mantra GaNanaN Tva. He founded the temple and named the Ganesha: Varada-Vinayak.

Ganesha is said to be living here in the form of Varada Vinayaka, who contributes to profit and success. The statue was found in a mixed pool (to Mr. Dhondu Paudkar in 1690AD), in a state of immersion so it looked bad. 

The statue is facing east, with its trunk to the left, and has been occupied by the oil lamp company - which is said to have burned regularly since 1892.

There are 4 pictures of elephants on four sides of the temple. the hall is 8feet by 8feet. The dome is 25feet high and gold at the top. The dome has cobra structures.

This is the only temple where devotees are allowed to discover for themselves their own reverence and respect for the image. They are allowed on the nearby neck of the idol to perform their prayers.
